BUENA, NJ May 8, 2007 - IGI, INC. (AMEX: IG) announced that Subhash Saxena, Ph.D., has been retained as a technical consultant and will serve on the Scientific Advisory Board of the company.
Dr. Saxena has a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and has over 31 years of experience in product development management, from concept through regulatory approval. He has a proven track record with several approved NDAs (New Drug Applications) and ANDAs (Abbreviated New Drug Applications) for products utilizing innovative and novel delivery systems for topical, mucosal, intravenous and oral delivery of the drugs. He holds several patents and is the author of numerous publications.
Dr. Saxena is a partner in JB Consulting, a private enterprise providing technical and regulatory services to the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. In the past, he held various management positions at Advanced Polymer Systems, American Home Products and American Hospital Supply Corporation. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Research & Development, Regulatory, and Quality for Cardinal Health, Topical Technologies. He was responsible for the development of several commercial cosmeceutical, prescription and over-the-counter drug products using proprietary delivery technologies.
