IGI FILES 12B-25 EXTENSION FOR FORM 10-KSB

Buena, NJ – March 31, 2006 – IGI, INC. (AMEX: IG) announced that it has filed a Form 12b-25 with the Securities and Exchange Commission in order to extend the due date of its 2005 Annual Report on Form 10-KSB for fifteen days, as permitted by Rule 12b-25 under the Securities Exchange Act.  Management requires additional time to compile data to furnish to its professionals to complete the Form 10-KSB for the fiscal year ended. IGI will hold a year end investor call at the time.
